Everything starts with a dream.
As a little girl, I had a dream of jumping and flipping like my gymnastics idol, Eileen Chai (a fellow Singaporean gymnast who won every major competition back in my days). I joined my primary school’s gymnastics team and never looked back.
According to Wikipedia, gymnastics is a sport that requires balance, strength, flexibility, agility, coordination and endurance. Alertness, precision, daring, self-confidence and self-discipline are mental traits that can also be developed through gymnastics. It is both an individualistic and team based sport.
I believe these are characteristics are attributable to an entrepreneur too!
If a little girl can think of defying gravity, does not give up after thousands of falls and broken ankles, and instead look forward to more training sessions and spend years to develop those skills, then it can also be said that more women can look to dream and grow their businesses too!
You may never know if you are the next Wright Brothers (who dreamt of flying), the next Zhang Xin/Pang Shiyi (who dreamt of building Manhattan in Beijing when it was all flat land) or next Simone Biles (who dreamt of going to the Olympics).
All you need is a little imagination and a lot of guts.
We hope to support more women entrepreneurs to shine at Miss Kaya. As part of the program, selected entrepreneurs and businesses will be able to develop their products on Miss Kaya’s Marketplace API. We are happy to partner with LATTICE80, the global Fintech hub/community to share resources and business networks.
To my fellow ladies entrepreneurs, give us a holla at firstname.lastname@example.org for more details on our inaugural accelerator program.
To potential partners and sponsors, likewise! Drop us a note and let’s talk!
With a grateful heart,
